This document addresses some frequently asked questions on SimplifyScan release 1.1.122.1317.

 

What new functionality is available in SimplifyScan release 1.1.122.1317?

Is there any functionality that was available in SimplifyScan release 1.1.121 that is not available in release 1.1.122?

  • The Windows Server 2000 and Windows Vista operating systems will no longer be supported

Are there new third party software versions supported with SimplifyScan release 1.1.122?
Yes. The applications supported by SimplifyScan have been updated to support the latest application versions. The following table identifies the currently supported software versions. This table will be updated as new versions are supported.

What are the devices supported by SimplifyScan Release No122?
All of the devices supported by SimplifyScan release 1.1.121 are supported also by release 1.1.122. Additionally there are some newly supported devices.

Does a customer need a new license to upgrade to SimplifyScan release 1.1.122?
If a customer that is currently using SimplifyScan v1.1.121 and the current license is under a valid maintenance and support agreement the customer does not need a new license. If the license is not covered under a support agreement the customer must obtain a new agreement or purchase a new license prior to upgrading. Does a customer need to be covered by maintenance and support to upgrade to SimplifyScan release 1.1.122?

Can any previous version of SimplifyScan be upgraded to SimplifyScan release 1.1.122?
If the customer is running version 1.1.121 it is possible to run the new build over the existing software to upgrade.

If the customer is running a version earlier than 1.1.121 the customer must uninstall the original software and then install v1.1.122. The customer can manually enter the original license to the v1.1.122 software.

Note: The customer must ensure the license has a valid maintenance and support agreement prior to upgrading. Maintenance and support entitlement can be verified by checking the date noted in your license file by looking under Help>License... in the SimplifyScan Administration Tool. If the license is not covered under a support agreement the customer must obtain a new agreement or purchase a new license prior to upgrading. Do I need to uninstall a prior version of SimplifyScan before upgrading to SimplifyScan release 1.1.122?
If the customer is running version 1.1.121 it is possible to run the new build over the existing software to upgrade.

How does a customer move from a trial version of SimplifyScan release 1.1.122 to a full version?
The full version license (that is part of the order fulfillment) should be applied over the trial version (the original settings will be retained). This can be done by selecting the Help>License... item from the main menu of the SimplifyScan Administration Tool.
